Feasibility study about modernization of a fruit belt dryer
Our fluid and thermodynamics knowledge and CFD experience allowed us to use a complex approach even in conceptual phase of a sophisticated project. Our team as a subcontractor performed a survey focusing on geometry, product mass flow, temperature and velocity distribution, and heat flow of the machine and air distribution ducts. Thereafter we created a simple 2D CFD model that we used to test our ideas about how to ensure even air flow in each cross section of the machine. Finally, we presented the most effective and cheapest idea to our partner. This way we convinced our partner that the old machine with cheap mechanical modifications and advanced control instruments can be elevated to the 21st century technical level.
