Solution

As a subcontractor we assessed the fatigue strength of the existing part according to FKM guideline. Based on the results of FEM stress calculations we changed the material, heat treatment and geometry around hot zone. By the end of the optimization stress amplitude was below the fatigue limit of the new part.
